14 Days Until Christmas

Today Lexi and Ava Mae hosted many of their homeschool friends for a Christmas Craft Party. Thanks to the help of my good friend, Jen, who came up with all the projects, and another friend who stayed to work one of the craft stations, the party was a big hit!

The girls snacked on cookies, punch and a festive trail mix, and made four projects. There was even time for a run outside to plan with frozen water and icicles that had formed on our outdoor furniture.

15 Days Until Christmas

This year we decided to bring back the tradition of two Christmas trees. Before we had children having two trees gave me an opportunity to have two different color themes. Now, our second tree is for our children. It is in our Family Room next to the fireplace and the kids (mostly our daughters) have enjoyed making ornaments to decorate the tree. Also, a place to put all those ornaments the kids make during the Christmas Season at activities they are involved in. I figure by Christmas Day the tree will be filled.

16 Days Until Christmas

Tonight we finally had time to sit quietly as a family and work through our Advent Guide. We also lit the 2nd Candle of Advent on our Wreath which stands for Peace.

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given. And the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6-7

17 Days Until Christmas

Tonight was our Homeschool Group's Christmas Party. Originally, the plan was to go caroling first but, with the rainy weather we thought it best to keep things indoors. :) Instead, we had a fun night of cookie decorating, delicious desserts and socializing.

18 Days Until Christmas

An evening of Gingerbread House Construction ... when will I learn to just pull out the glue gun and put it together. The roof has yet to go on successfully but, I have high hopes for tomorrow when I pick up some glue sticks at the craft store and work my magic with a hot glue gun.

19 Days Until Christmas

Our first December weekend was jam packed with 3 different performances along with a trip to "Walk Through Bethlehem" and a local church's Christmas Festival.

Today the kids sang at both our church (pictured above) and the church the kids attend school at on Fridays. By the time this evening rolled around we were all ready to drop into bed but, with fun memories of a great start to our Christmas season.

20 Days Until Christmas

As we quickly approach the 2nd Sunday of Advent we have a jam packed weekend ... full of performances and fun activities. Today, the girls both participated in "How The Grinch Found Christmas" a beautiful adaptation of the original book by our ballet school director. Lexi was a Snow Queen and Ava Mae the Narrator's Daughter.

Tonight, we ended our day of fun with a trip to or, should I say through, Bethlehem.
