We are home from our first vacation of the summer ... visiting family in Asheville, North Carolina. We had a great week and a wonderful celebration on the 4th of July.Some of the highlights of our trip included ...
Shopping in Downtown Asheville with my sisters as tour guides - great shops and restaurants, My Mom, Sister - Emily and I visited the Southern Highlands Folk Art Center on the Blue Ridge Parkway, Daune and the kids toured the Blue Ridge Parkway Visitor's Center, Touring the Gardens at the NC Arboretum and enjoying lunch on the veranda, Finding a great kid's bookstore in Downtown Asheville with new and used books that fit into our curriculum for the coming year, Celebrating the 4th of July at my brother's new loft in Downtown Asheville - watching the fireworks from his rooftop deck.
I also was able to get a little work done for Grand Slam Asheville while on vacation. I toured the swanky hotel we will be hosting the VIP Reception at and made some decisions as to the set up and flow for the event.It was a fun week with lots of great memories ... now we look forward to our next vacation in August.
